The U.S. Halal Consultants and U.S. Halal Expo & Summit organized a distinguished delegation of five U.S.-based businesses to participate in the Makkah Halal Forum from February 25 to 27th in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This visit aimed to strengthen international halal industry ties, explore global market opportunities, and facilitate collaboration between key stakeholders in the halal sector. The delegation engaged in high-level discussions, networking events, and strategic partnerships to enhance the presence of U.S. halal businesses in the global market.
Engagements and Key Meetings
During the forum, the U.S. delegation met with exhibitors from Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Brazil, Bosnia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand. These interactions provided valuable insights into emerging halal market trends, certification processes, and trade opportunities between the U.S. and international markets.
One of the delegation’s key engagements was a private meeting with Mr. Abdulaziz AlRushodi, CEO of the Saudi Halal Center. Discussions focused on strengthening trade relations, certification alignment, and facilitating Saudi halal-certified products’ entry into the U.S. market. Additionally, the delegation held an exclusive meeting with executives from the Brazilian delegation, exploring potential collaborations in halal food exports and distribution channels.
“Our visit to the Makkah Halal Forum was a significant step in strengthening global halal industry ties. Engaging with key international partners and signing strategic agreements will open new doors for halal businesses looking to enter the U.S. market. This forum showcased the immense potential of the halal economy, and we are excited to play a role in its growth and expansion.” – Marwan Ahmad, President of U.S. Halal Consultants

Networking and Workshops
The delegation was honored to join a private dinner organized by the Saudi Halal Center, which provided a platform for informal discussions and relationship-building with global halal industry leaders. Furthermore, members participated in a workshop titled “Shaping the Future of the Global Halal Economy,” where experts discussed trends, challenges, and innovations in the halal sector. The workshop emphasized the importance of cross-border collaborations, regulatory advancements, and technological innovations in ensuring a sustainable halal economy.
Strategic Partnerships and Agreements
A significant outcome of the visit was the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) between the U.S. Halal Consultants team and international partners. These agreements will facilitate the entry of foreign halal businesses into the U.S. market, ensuring smoother regulatory navigation, business development support, and market expansion strategies. The MOUs reflect a growing interest from global halal businesses in tapping into the U.S. halal consumer base and establishing long-term partnerships with U.S. stakeholders.
The U.S. delegation’s participation in the Makkah Halal Forum marked an important step toward enhancing international cooperation in the halal industry. Through productive meetings, strategic agreements, and knowledge-sharing workshops, the delegation successfully strengthened ties with key global halal players. These engagements will contribute to the continued growth and development of the U.S. halal market, further positioning it as a key player in the global halal economy.
